Bluvision emphasizes the importance of monitoring temperature of perishable items during power outages

Fort Lauderdale, September 20, 2017 – In the event of a prolonged power outage as is the case from hurricane Irma and Harvey, the need to monitor the temperature of perishable items such as – pharmaceutical products, food, and cold storage, is imperative in order to safeguard the health and effectiveness of these items. Monitoring the temperature of these items in real-time and at all times ensures the safety regulations put forth by FDA [Food and Drug Administration] and CDC [Center for Disease Control and Prevention.] Bluvision’s Cold Chain Temperature Monitoring Solution provides industries affected by sudden power outages the ability to monitor and log temperatures during and after power outages, to ensure correct temperatures are being maintained and the perishable products are safe to be consumed.

Bluvision’s Cold Chain Temperature Monitoring Solution is a low cost, fast-to-implement solution that provides real-time and recorded insights into the temperature of the shipments or inventory. Bluvision’s Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons have embedded sensors to measure temperature, ambient light, vibration, magnetic current and other telemetry data. The temperature sensors provide an accuracy of 0.2°C and can operate in the range of -30°C to +77°C. The temperature data can be accessed through an SDK-enabled app or through Bluvision’s cloud solution – Bluzone. The combination of sensors in the beacons track how many times the container/cooler was opened and whether the product is in transit or is stationary. However, the most effective part of this solution is that it provides businesses the ability to create a user-defined alert to receive a notification when the temperature of the item goes above or under the specified range.

The new solution uses machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to predict motor and equipment failure. Bluvision Announces Fastest Implementation Real-Time Location System – RTLS-EZ at RFID Journal LIVE

Bluvision announces that its Proximity5 platform is the first CMS solution to support Android’s Nearby Notifications

– Bluvision, www.bluvision.com, the market leaders in  Bluetooth beacons according to ABI Research Report 2016, were selected as the hardware partner for enabling tunnel navigation capabilities by Waze. Waze, the free, real time, crowdsourced traffic and navigationapp powered by drivers, has developed a viable solution that addresses ‘tunnel blindness’ in the absence of GPS. Bluvision’s industry-leading Bluetooth sensor beacons – BEEKS Plus with extended battery life that can exceed 6-years, along with Waze innovative software – is the perfect solution to the challenges with tunnel navigation and accuracy in ETA. Waze began implementing the Waze Beacons in mid-August and will continue throughout this fall.

Waze Beacons are Bluvision’s cost-effective, battery-operated, Bluetooth low-energy microcontrollers that have Waze-specific configurations powered by Eddystone to transmit messages directly to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth used as an alternative to GPS signal. In other words, Waze Bluvision Beacons enable uninterrupted location service with driver devices, yielding tunnel navigation not possible with GPS.

BEEKS Plus long battery life beacon used for Tunnel Navigation by Waze Waze worked with Bluvision to create custom beacon hardware designed to suit moving vehicles and solve historic, tunnel-specific location challenges. Tweaks included faster frequency of beacon pings to get less error for a fast-moving vehicle and stronger transmission to get enough overlap between beacons coverage.

Bluvision’s beacons can be used to provide location accuracy within one-meter and promises to be far more accurate than standard RSSI. The beacons are IP67 water and environment-resistant, making them both durable and reliable for harsh environment. The BEEKS™ Plus LR beacons are designed with Directional Beamforming antenna, the first of its kind in the world today.  The advantage of using this type of antenna is that enterprises can precisely determine if the beacon is in the front of, to the side or behind the phone. Bluvision’s BEEKS™ Plus LR beacons combined with Bluvision’s RTLS capabilities are a perfect fit for companies needing to monitor locations or assets in open areas or areas with difficult RF environments where signal transmission is often disrupted, making the determination of real-time location extremely challenging. Like the Industrial beacons, BEEKS™ Plus LR beacons are IP67 water resistant and environmental resistance. The BEEKS™ Plus LR beacons are also equipped with sensors – motion detection 3 axis accelerometer and NIST calibrated temperature sensors. The BEEKS™ Plus LR also has capabilities of logging sensor data within the beacon with options of 512 KB flash standard for logging temperature and environmental sensors for up to six months.

The latest in line of BluFi™, Bluvision’s Bluetooth to WiFi gateways, can support any environment and location even in the absence of AC power, thereby offering great flexibility to deploying scalable BLE solution/s for outdoors and areas where power is not readily available.

Bluvision drives early adoption of Android’s Nearby Notifications feature

 

Fort Lauderdale, June 14, 2016 – Bluvision (www.bluvision.com), the leaders in sensor beacons and Real-Time Location System [RTLS] solutions using Bluetooth Low Energy [BLE] technology, teamed up with Airside Mobile (the provider of an innovative mobile travel app that enables bypassing airport customs line) for one of the first implementations of the recently launched Nearby Notifications feature. Nearby Notifications is a feature for Android that provides contextual app and website experiences related to the things around them.

Bluvision’s sensor beacons were recently deployed near the departure and arrival areas at several international airports including SFO (San Francisco), EWR (Newark), JFK (New York), and SJC (San Jose.) The beacons were configured to broadcast the Eddystone UID signal so when a passenger comes in close proximity to one of the beacons, that passenger receives a Nearby notification on their Android phone to download the Airside Mobile app. The new Nearby experience provides a mechanism for the Eddystone UID broadcast to take a user directly to the Mobile app on the Google Play Store, greatly simplifying the user’s experience by giving them the apps they need in the location where the app may be most useful. The user does not have to search for the app in the Play Store, instead he/she just has to accept the Nearby notification to download the app if they choose to do so. Providers can also direct users to a web URL using the Eddystone URL feature.

Bluvision supports Nearby integration with Eddystone UIDs. Eddystone UID allows app creators to use the unique hexadecimal code that is created when an app is published on the Play Store, in the beacon’s Eddystone UID broadcast.  Android devices (running 5.0 or later with Google Play Services 9.2+) receive the Eddystone broadcast and offers a direct link to the app. Bluvision beacons running Eddystone UID create simple yet powerful means to allow users to have access to the applications where and when they need them the most.
